BYU Graduation!

Last week we graduated! AND Dad came out for it! I was happy he came, and we probably wouldn't have walked otherwise. I'm glad we walked, and Dad took some nice pictures for us.

He got into town on Wednesday night and took us all (me, Spencer, James, Miranda) out to eat at the Old Spaghetti Factory. We stayed there and chatted for quite a while. I think our server was a little annoyed, but they weren't very busy anyway.

Thursday morning we all went to the temple together. That was really nice.

After we finished at the Temple we helped James and Miranda move for a little while. Then we went to lunch at J-dawgs. Y-U-M. Spencer, James, and Miranda went to work from there, so Dad and I walked around BYU, the bookstores, and I bought him his first every BYU Creamery ice cream. I do love that ice cream, but we still hardly ever get it. Oh, and we saw some ducks -- my favorite thing about campus. 

Spencer met up with us after work for commencement on Thursday afternoon. We didn't walk with the thousands of graduates for this one. Instead, we sat in the audience from these really good seats. :) 

President Uchtdorf addressed us. That was exciting. Also, notice how zoomy my camera is! 

 After commencement we went to the grocery store to buy stuff for a cookout! We met James and Miranda at the park, too. I didn't take any pictures of it, but it was fun. Then we came back to our apartment to watch the Saratov Approach, which Dad picked up at the bookstore that day.

Friday was the big day for us. :) The Life Sciences Convocation was at 8:00 am, but we still drove around for quite a while looking for parking. I do hate parking at BYU. Spencer walked with me (in the Biology department, as opposed to the MMBio department), so that was fun! I graduated Magna Cum Laude. The ceremony was long, but they did a nice job with it and they really got the graduates through pretty fast, considering there were nearly 1,000 of us. After the ceremony we went around campus to take some nice pictures!

This little photo session afterwards was really fun. Dad and Spencer had me laughing a lot. Half the time dad was too far away from us to tell us what he wanted us to do, but he was using the zoom lens.

Then we went to the MMBio Department luncheon! They had sandwiches, veggies, fruit, and really good little eclairs. Which we each ate like 3 of. They had lots of extra food. 

James and Miranda worked most of Friday and we weren't really sure what to do after the luncheon. Eventually Dad went back to his hotel and we went to our apartment to take naps/relax for a couple of hours. We went to meet Dad at the hotel and watched some TV until James and Miranda were off of work, then we drove around looking for some dinner. We got smash burger, which was good. Then James and Miranda were off to her parents' house and Spencer and I went to use the hot tub at the hotel for a little bit. We only stayed there for 15 minutes probably. There were lots of people. We were out of things to do, so we just visited with Dad and watched whatever was on TV. 

On Saturday morning Dad picked us up and took us out for a breakfast buffet and then made his way up to the airport. It was a really nice visit from Dad, and I'm glad that we walked and are all graduated!!
