Everything is Falling into Place (through May)

The last couple of days we've been emailing an apartment owner in Marseille, and we've officially booked it for May! 2 weeks. We paid our down payment, and yesterday I booked our flights!! It's kind of scary to book flights like that, especially since they are so dang expensive. We were going to get flights with just one layover in Paris, but when I'd click on them to buy them they'd either go up in price or say they were no longer available. So then I tried to get another flight with 2 layovers one way, but Orbitz would keep saying it wasn't available anymore when I'd click select. I ended up giving up on Orbitz and bought them directly through Delta, but we got them in the end. We ended up getting tickets with 2 layovers each direction, but the layovers aren't too short or too long, and the tickets were a decent price. It's gonna be a long day of flying, no matter how we do it. So, yay! Our France trip is officially on!

Today I talked with our landlady when I went to pay rent and I let her know we'd be moving at the end of May (one month before our contract is up), and she was fine with that, so that's great. I thought we'd have to find a new renter, but she said she'll put an add up at the beginning of May. It'll fill, because apartments always fill quickly in Provo. So, we are now officially moving at the end of May. We'll probably pack most things up before our trip, then when we get back we'll mostly have to load up the trucks and hit the road.

For where, you ask? Well, probably for Spencer's family's house at first. The plan is to stay there while we find an apartment. I'm not signing a lease unless I see the place in person, and flying us both out for a weekend of apartment hunting would be too expensive. So, we'll leave our things in storage and stay with Mom and Dad until we can find a new place. Which hopefully won't take very long. I'm a little nervous about it though.

Medical school update. Spencer interviewed at Central Michigan University last month, and we found out on Tuesday that he was put on the wait list for them as well. I was having a little bit of an emotional morning to begin with, and burst out crying when he told me. I just really wanted to know where we were going, and I really want to go to CMU. Wayne State also informed us this week that Spencer's status as wait listed has not changed. So, we bought his plane ticket for an interview at Western a few weeks from now, and we continue to wait. And learn patience. Or something. I think it will probably be mid-May when we find out. May 15 is the deadline for students to declare which school they will be attending, so any students holding places at more than one school will have to tell the school they are not taking the slot. Those positions will be filled from wait lists. And hopefully Spencer will be offered one of them.  Of course he could be offered a spot sooner than May or he could get into Western. So, we'll probably be in Kalamazoo, Detroit, or Mount Pleasant for medical school. If Spencer doesn't get into a school by the time we move, he'll start looking for a job, and we'll move to wherever he finds something.
