Study, work, study...

I haven't written this week because, well, nothing much has happened. On Monday we had work and did some of our reading for Humanities during my break. After work I went and met up with Spencer in his weightlifting class. They were doing their strength testing day, so I did some of those, but not all of them because I came later. I could only do one bench press at 65% of my body weight or whatever percentage we were supposed to test at. So I took all the weights off and could only do 10 with the bar alone. It was a little depressing. I did alright with the other lifts though.

Once we got home and ate we finished most of hamlet. Then at 9:30 we went to pick up our new table from the Walton's house. They're moving and they gave us their table with 3 leaves, 8 matching chairs, and a matching buffet! We had to take the table apart, so it ended up taking until 11:30 and we decided to come back later for the buffet and last few chairs. It'll be great to have though! After we got back we did a quiz for humanities, and our two homework assignments for anatomy. Then we reviewed a tiny tiny bit of anatomy for the quiz we had Tuesday. I think it was almost 1:00 by the time we got to sleep. And we got up before 6 to go into the Anatomy open lab for an hour before work to study for our quiz.

Tuesday was looooong. I really didn't study as much for this quiz as we did for the first one, so I was pretty nervous about it. I ended up having time to study at work, and they didn't make the quiz as difficult as it could have been. Spencer and I each missed a half point, on different questions. I was happy with it since I couldn't even name half of them when I woke up that morning. After our quiz we learned the lower body muscles. It was our first lab with cadavers, so that was new. The idea of cadavers doesn't bother me at all, and I wouldn't mind donating my body to science someday, but seeing them was a little disconcerting. When we went in to study them today for open lab I didn't want to touch them, so I made Spencer turn them over and move the layers of muscle. The worst part is probably the smell though. Yuck. There are a lot of muscles and we have to know them for tomorrow. Weightlifting was good yesterday, but my arms are a little sore today, and humanities was fine. I'm not a huge fan of Hamlet. I think the whole thing is a little ridiculous and why do people want to read books where every single person dies?! I don't know. I guess I just can't really appreciate art and literature like some people. Which is why I'm majoring in PD Bio and not the humanities.

Well, time for work again. More open lab tonight and probably at 7am tomorrow again to get it all down before our quiz. School is stressful. And we have 2 midterms this week to study for.

  1. Good work. You can fit that many chairs and a buffet in your apartment?! :) And I'd give my right arm to back to the stress of school. At least you get five minutes to yourself! And I'll never forget that cadaver smell. Tyler would come home with it every day. Yuck.
